The city of Wesseling intends to continue its urban renewal concept in 2022 and is to receive a new utilization concept for an approx. 6,300m² site in the city center.
Adapted to the city´s needs, a modern quarter with a qualitative new-build with up to 6 floors is to be created.
The existing parking lot on Wilhelm-Rieländer Straße will be demolished for this pproject, which will become a symbiosis of student and normal housing, hotel and commercial spaces as well as leisure and food areas. The center of attraction will be a street food market and a climbing hall. It is targeted to strengthen the structures of the city center and to expand and modernize the existing offerings. The direct proximity to the newly redesigned pedestrian precint as well as to the train station favors this vivid area.
